Bungee jumping is the ultimate personal battle with fear. One moment you’re standing on a bridge above a 200m deep chasm, and the next, you leap forward and fall rapidly towards the ground, only to bounce weightlessly upward before impact. But do you have the bravery to make that jump?

Bungee Jumping an extreme sport originating in the UK in 1979, when intrepid members of the famous Dangerous Sports Club made the first ever jumps off the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol. Their inspiration came from the land divers of Penetecost Island in Vanuatu - who jump from tall wooden platforms with vines tied to their ankles as a test of courage.

A bungee jumper leaps from a high location (generally of several hundred feet/metres) with one end of an elastic bungee cord attached to their body or ankles. and the other end attached to the jump-point. When the person jumps, the bungee cord stretches to absorb the energy of the fall, and the jumper will fly upwards as the cord snaps back. The jumper oscillates up and down until the initial energy of the jump dissipates.
