Fishbourne is a village in West Sussex, situated between Chichester and Bosham. It is the location of a major archaeological site known as Fishbourne Roman Palace. On the site have been found remains dating to around the time of the Roman Invasion of Britain in AD 43. One theory is that this was the site of one of the landings by the Romans.

Arundel Castle is also in West Sussex and is one of the most impressive and complete castles remaining in Britain. The original fortification was begun during the reign of Edward the Confessor and completed by Robert de Montgomery, who was the first to hold the earldom, under William the Conqueror.
