You can travel to Guernsey by sea and air. Ferries run frequently from Poole to Guernsey, and most UK and European airports fly to Guernsey. Many visitors to Guernsey take their own vehicle, but a large number prefer to leave their car at home and take advantage of the cheap car hire rates on the island. Guernsey also has good public transport. The island lies closer to France than England.

Guernsey is the 2nd largest channel island - with Jersey being the largest and the most southerly. Alderney is 20 miles to the north of Guernsey and is the most northerly of the group.

There are a number of attractions to be seen in Guernsey. The St Peter Port Carnival takes place at the end of July - where you’ll find many street entertainers and performers. Old Guernsey market is held every Thursday afternoon in the summer months, where you can buy anything from local crafts to souvenirs.
